The UAE has dedicated a week to celebrate its innovations, turning it into a smart country that simulates space and serves its citizens through drones, robots, 3D buildings, museums, and government services via the Internet and mobile phones, according to Al-Hayat newspaper today. The "UAE Innovates" week, which starts today, will be an annual event, in which government departments present all their smart projects and innovations, to urge them not to stop launching new ones every year. This is what the Director of the Government Communication Department at the Prime Minister's Office, Badr Al-Zeraei, told Al-Hayat.

The Higher Committee of the "UAE Innovates" Week approved more than a thousand events in the seven emirates of the country, from morning to evening, in conjunction with the country's celebrations of its National Day, which contributes to raising the level of innovation and promotes "a culture of innovation and transforming it into a personal trait, and disseminating it in all among citizens and residents on the land of the Emirates, and in various groups of societies.

The Organizing Committee confirmed the distribution of events on weekdays to reach the largest number of people, with morning and evening activities, launching initiatives, and organizing public events, covering all the Emirates and cities of the country, to document what the UAE has achieved during the year designated by the political leadership as a year. for innovation, as part of its endeavor to transform into a "knowledge economy".

The political leadership announced at the beginning of the year a plan to launch a spacecraft to explore Mars by 2021, calling it the "Probe of Hope", considering that the space sector is one of the most important engines of the economy, and seeking to "integrate space technologies into daily life in the country, to enrich knowledge of the earth and the universe, UAE investments in space technology have now exceeded $6 billion, including the satellite communications company “Yahsat”, the “Thuraya” company for mobile satellite communications, and the “DubaiSat” satellite system for mapping and monitoring the Earth. .

The UAE focused on a project of unmanned aircraft, to provide government services, and use them in search and rescue and "service to humanity", and during the current year bought a number of these aircraft for about $ 200 million, to become the first country outside NATO to own aircraft without a pilot.

And it was announced in Abu Dhabi that the tests of the first home-made unmanned aircraft with an Emirati design had been successfully completed, and it was called "Al-Yahiboon - Union 40", whose name is associated with the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of the United Arab Emirates.

During the "Year of Innovation", the Emirate of Dubai launched the "Museum of the Future", to showcase the new generation of services in future governments. It includes future visions of services in the educational and health sectors, and smart city planning. With international universities and institutes, and companies specialized in future innovations, it includes a laboratory for research, design and innovation for government agencies, as well as a future vision of smart streets that speak to and guide residents, and provide them with all the information they need. After the launch of the "Year of Innovation" initiative, government departments began competing to embrace projects of students and innovators to develop robots that facilitate their work, such as a "tour guide" robot, a robot for customer service, and another for carrying hazardous materials.
