INDIA BANS Drone IMPORTS

India has banned the import of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a step that effectively closes the door to an emerging market for China's largest DGI manufacturer, and encourages the nascent domestic industry to increase production.

The Indian External Trade General said the import of some components of unmanned aircraft would be allowed without the need for approval, a statement issued by the Indian External Trade General was quoted by the "Mothurberg" news agency as saying on Saturday night.

الهند تحظر واردات الطائرات بدون طيار

Authorities have announced the exclusion of drones used for research, development, defence and security purposes from the embargo.

It is noteworthy that India is one of many countries around the world that are trying to find alternatives for China to meet its needs of products and components. It should also be noted that there has been a long-standing dispute between India and China along their disputed border in the Hema Islands.

India last year relaxed rules relating to the use of drones to facilitate licensing and permit greater flights.

India will provide Rs.1.2 billion ($16 million) in incentives to manufacturers of unmanned aircraft under a $20 billion plan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract the largest brands from around the world to manufacture and export their products in India.
