Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)- The UAE Ministry of Defense announced the objection and destruction of 3 "hostile" drones, which it said had penetrated the country's airspace at dawn on Wednesday.
The UAE Ministry of Defense stated, in a tweet via its Twitter account, on Wednesday, that the interception of the drones occurred away from the populated areas.
The ministry said in its tweet: "The Ministry of Defense announces the objection and destruction of 3 enemy drones that penetrated the state's airspace at dawn today 2/2/2022 away from the populated areas."
The ministry stressed that "it is ready and prepared to deal with any threats, and that it takes all necessary measures to protect the state from any attack."

Until now, the Houthis - supported by Iran - have not announced their adoption of attacks.
The last Houthi attack was during the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to the UAE at the end of last month.
On Tuesday, the Pentagon announced that the fifth generation fighters will be deployed, in addition to a destruction to help the UAE in facing threats, according to a ministry statement.
