Dubai, February 16 / WAM / The Ministry of Education announced the launch of the fifth session of the National Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation at the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo 2020 during the period from 6 to 8 March next.
The announcement of the festival's details came during a press conference held by the organizing committee at the Expo 2020 Dubai headquarters in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Amna Al -Dahhak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Care and Capacity Building Sector, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Festival.
The festival aims to enhance the passion for science, technology, innovation and scientific research among students and workers in the educational field and all segments of society, and the festival receives increasing attention due to its innovative programs that simulate future trends in various fields of science, technologies, advanced skills, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The festival presents an official platform for the Ministry of Education to honor the distinguished Emirati youth who strive to play their role in shaping the future of the state, as it includes two main competitions, namely the Emirates Award for the Young World and the Young Innovators Challenge Competition along with a scientific conference and the innovation laboratory..
The festival includes a variety of innovation activities, entrepreneurship and educational and recreational events that attract all segments of society, students, parents, teachers, scholars, researchers, university professors, businessmen, thought leaders and industry.
His Excellency Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, stressed that the vision and philosophy of the educational ministry is based on its essence on instilling the concepts of innovation among students and providing them with advanced knowledge and skills and the rooting of the creativity approach in themselves and this is what the ministry is keen to crystallize within its educational message in order to achieve the sustainability of education and the industry of national minds that contribute toUAE leadership in various fields of science, technology and innovation.
He added that the concept of complementarity and comprehensiveness in application and performance during the student's learning journey is an inevitable necessity in order for us to build and consolidate his knowledge and sciences and this necessitated interest in the curriculum and its inclusion in various knowledge and modern science and innovation in parallel with the implementation of class and undergraduate activities that develop students' skills and adopt their capabilities in various fieldsIt also contributes to refining their characters.
In this regard, he explained that the Ministry is implementing the National Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation, taking care of the continuous development of its departments and activities in order to achieve qualitative outputs that reflect positively on students, educators, specialists and various groups of society, in line with the state’s vision for the next fifty years that put innovation, technology and the sustainability of education within the basic benefitsFor this period.

The "Emirates Young World" competition is the main competition within the festival, where a platform is allocated to display research projects and research results reached by students in the fields of social, behavioral sciences, biological and environmental sciences, chemistry sciences, physics, mathematics and technology, by working on a project based on the methodology of scientific research.
Participants in the competition are competing for 23 cash prizes presented by the Ministry to the winners, where motivational prizes are awarded to the best supervisors of projects in addition to the award for the best school in terms of the number of projects, their quality and quality. The best 100 projects are only the opportunity of the opportunity in the platform of the "Emirates for the young world" at the festival.
The students of public, private and technical schools are available to the following two categories: the first category students of grades 5-8 and the second category class students 9-12 where students can with an individual project for one of the citizens of the United Arab Emirates or a group project for a team consisting of two or three people as a limitThe maximum is allowed to have only one student who is not citizens of the state within the work team.

The festival's innovation laboratory department includes a workshop entitled "Entrepreneurs in Science", which is implemented over March 6 and 7 and aims to open new professional prospects for distinguished young researchers from higher education students who are at the beginning of their career by directing their specialized scientific research knowledge to implement inSuccessful business entrepreneurship projects. The workshop also aims to bring about a qualitative change in the thought and culture of young researchers towards more design and desire to work in the field of entrepreneurship.
During the workshop, students of higher education will present their research projects and discuss how they are transferred to emerging business projects based on entrepreneurship. They will also learn how to promote the ideas of their entrepreneurial scientific projects and present them to an expert audience in discussing projects and critical subtraction.
